It’s been quite a while since I did one of these for the website. Since coming off tour, we’ve been working on a new music site which is now live and ready too use. It’s called Topline and it’s a music licensing platform. I decided to consider starting this some time back but every time there appeared to be quite specific restrictions stopping me. Biting the bullet this time and with the help of some great designers and advice for some very encouraging chums, I started compiling the catalogue. The idea of working through my extensive archive soon took a back seat and I started writing new ideas, songs, tracks, that I felt would work. I approached several really fab people to help with some co-writes; Robbie Calvo on guitars, Mike Haughton on woodwind, Graham Preskett on violin and mandolin, Dan Bilbrough ethnic percussion, Matty Hay on grunge guitars and Jem Cooke on vocals.
Soon I had enough to start building specific categories that would help with the searches for Moods, Styles, Genres, Instruments, and Productions. I even decided to add a colour chart colour the tracks. Topline went live on January 1st 2019. Slowly slowly, a soft launch, and one that will enable us to iron out a few things, find glitches, and gradually pick up clients hopefully to license the music. But we also want to introduce a new and exciting resource to Topline; One that could encourage and help new writers giving them a unique platform to audition and license their works. Check it out. There’s so much already there and you can read About and FAQ as well as get some information regarding our Bespoke service.
